COLUMBUS — Inez Summerville, 79, died Feb. 2, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Word International Church in Crawford, with Lee Andrew Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church Cemetery in Brooksville. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Summerville was born April 24, 1946, in Noxubee County, to the late Jeffery Summerville and Freddie Mae Summerville. She was formerly employed with Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company and Sanitary Laundry. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Summerville; and siblings, McKinley Summerville and Addie B. Summerville.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Jean Jones of Lincoln, Alabama, Gladys Summerville Craddieth of Lake Spivey, Georgia, Pameal Summerville and Timothy Terell Summerville, both of Columbus; sister, Dorothy Harris of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Troy Sherrod, Tony Sherrod, Von Williams, Eric Sherrod, Darrell Sherrod, Robert Jenkins, Roy Sherrod and Calvin Sherrod.
