MILLPORT, Ala. — Herman McManus, 100, died July 30, 2025, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Springhill Baptist Church, with Andy Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. McManus was born July 23, 1925, in Millport, to the late J.V. McManus and Nannie Lee (McCullough) McManus. He was formerly employed at Seminole Manufacturing Company and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his children, Carolyn Stokes of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Janice Whitaker of Vernon, Alabama, and Gary McManus of Millport; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Kevin Stokes, Jorgen Halemay, Caleb Whitaker, Terry Fields, Josh McManus and Matt Newman.
