COLUMBUS — Herbert “Herb” C. Davis, 72, died Jan. 21, 2026. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Christian Hill M.B. Church, with Bernard Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Davis was born February 17, 1953, in Pickens, Alabama, to the late Alcurtis Bush and Callie Mae Brewer. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Arthur Bush, Eugen Bush, Johnnie, Bertha Davis and Mary Jean Jamison. 

He is survived by his siblings, Ida Cunningham, Maxzine Brewer, Walter L. Bush, Amos Lyons, Frederick Bush, Ida Ruth Gibson, all of Columbus, Alacurtis Bush, Delois Little, both of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, James Brewer of Michigan, Anthony Brewer of Phoenix City, Alabama, John Brewer of Battle Creek, Michigan, Demon Brewer of Houston, Texas, Sarah Bush of Biloxi, Dianee Bush of Radcliff, Kentucky, Chenille Summerville of Memphis, Tennessee, and Keasha Bush of Newport, Virginia.
