MACON —  Henry C. “Bodie” Lockett, 82, died June 22, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Tabernacle M.B. Church, with the Rev. Montreal Rucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mayhan Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lockett was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Noxubee County, to the late Johnnie Earl and Hattie Jane Lockett. He was a member of Mt. Sinai M.B. Church and attended Oak Grove M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bessie Smith, Johnnie, Earnest, Ozzie, Charles, Eddie, Walter and Freddie Lockett.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Ann Lockett of Macon; children, Henry Lockett Jr. and Windy Shields, both of Macon, Anthony Lockett of Weir, and Janinette Lockett of Columbus; siblings, Hugh Lockett and Bennie Lockett, both of Chicago, Illinois, Lovell Cunningham of Columbus, and Frank Lockett of Macon; and 15 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jamarrius Bradford, Bobby May, Christopher Lockett, Larry Malone, Jakarion Lockett and Travis Lockett.
