STARKVILLE — Helen Jean Billups, 69, died May 8, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at North Montgomery Church of Christ in Starkville with the Rev. Stanley Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Starkville. Visitation is Friday from noon-5 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Starkville. Mrs. Billups was born in Starkville on Feb. 27, 1946, to the late Ervin Billups and Catherine Walker. She was a homemaker. She is survived by daughters, Castella Bell, Rosie Lee Bell and Monica Townsel, all of Starkville, Pamela Johnson of Conyers, Georgia, and Cynthia Billups of Nashville, Tennessee; sons, Michel Billups, McArthur Bell and Henry Bell, all of Starkville; sisters, Ida Lee Harrell of Starkville, Annie Mildred Hodges of Bellvue, Missouri, Mary Louise Thurston and Lois Glen, both of St. Louis and Annie Ruth Hill of Columbus; brothers, Willie D. Billups of Cincinnati, James Billups of Chicago, Carnell Billups of St. Louis, Russell Billups of Memphis, Tennessee, Johnny Mack Billups of California and Dennis Billups of Pensacola, Florida; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
