KENNEDY, Ala. — Hansel Jones, 81, died May 6, 2026.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday, at Dowdle Funeral Home, with Billy Carl Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Kennedy City Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born March 29, 1945, to the late Leevoid and Eulene Jones. He was formerly employed in the steel building industry and as the owner and operator of Hansel Jones Trucking. He attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall and Harold Jones.

He is survived by his children, Rodney Jones and Shannon Sanford; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Aaron Holliman, Benji Jones, Lloyd Jones, Tristan Jones, Kent Moore and Justin Sandford.
