COLUMBUS — Grant “Lil Bruh” Roland, 86, died Oct. 25, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Goldnen Triangle.  

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Canaan M.B. Church with the Rev. Al Lathan officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Roland was born June 22, 1939, in Macon, to the late Jim Roland and Adline McCarthy.  He was formerly employed at Tombigbee Furniture Company and D.S. McClanahan. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Willie James Hopkins, Lillie Hooper, Martha J. Roland, Bessie Orr, Lillie Mae Roland, Ruby Taylor, Lizzie L. Taylor. 

He is survived by his son, Tommy Staples of Powder Springs, Georgia; siblings, Carolyn Harris, Nelson Roland, both of Columbus and Mary Louise Roland of Manhattan, New York; two grandchildren;  and two great-grandchildren.
