COLUMBUS — Gerald K. Blunt, 53, died Sept. 26, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Southside M.B. Church, with Rayfield Evins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Blunt  was born Jan. 18, 1972, in Columbus, to the late Alexander Blunt and Betty R. Blunt. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School and Meridian Community College and attended East Mississippi Community College. He was formerly employed at American Non-Woven, Initial Staffing (Mercedes Benz), Mitsubishi, Globe Manufacturing, Hydro-Vac Industrial Services, Tronox, Kior and Sterling Chemicals. He was a member of Southside M.B. Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Blunt; children, Kennedi Blunt and Kelli Blunt, both of Columbus; siblings, Bettina Blunt, Earl Blunt, both of Columbus and Sergeant First Class Anthony D. Blunt. 

Pallbearers will be Robert Blunt, Shawn Jordan, Erise Wilson, Derrick Salter, Johnny Kyle, Anthony Brewer, Deon Brewer and Greg West.
