Gary Randall Lucas, Sr., 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 28, 2025, at his residence.

The visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL.

Mr. Lucas was born August 19, 1949 in San Antonio, TX, to the late William C. Lucas, Sr. and Beddie Ruth Butler Lucas. He retired in 1990 as a Vietnam Veteran and a Sergeant First Class, after serving 22 1/2 years in the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, thrifting, and traveling with his daughter, Cheyanne. He loved working in the yard and spending time with his big beautiful family. Recently, he started collecting roosters.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lucas is preceded in death by his son, John Randall Glen Lucas; and siblings, Shirley Ruth Carter, William C. Lucas, Jr. and Kathryn Jean McDill.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldean Barham Lucas; children, Cheyanne Kelly Lucas, Gary Randall Lucas Jr (Dawn), Pansye Gayle Lucas (Chad Vale), and Luther Wade Lucas (Tiffany); grandchildren, Gary Randall Lucas, III, Candy Marie Lucas, Victoria Addyson Lucas, Christina Michelle Reedy (Jason), and Matthew Lucas; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Karen Matherne, Joanne Williams and Lynn Plumb (Jimmy).

Pallbearers will be Gary R. Lucas III, Matthew E. Lucas, Johnathan Lucas, Jeff Plumb, Jaheim Hayden, and Koby Menard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Lucas, Jimmy Plumb, Dexter Johnson, and Troy Johnson.
