WEST POINT — Freddie Mae Tallie, 71, died April 17, 2026, in Tupelo. 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Greenwood Cemetery, with Vera Harris officiating. Visitation is from 4-5 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Mortuary Services. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Tallie was born March 4, 1955, in Clay County, to the late James Tallie Sr. and Gracie Cobb Tallie. She was formally employed as a housekeeper. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, James Tallie Jr., David Lee Tallie, John Henry Tallie, Willie Lee Tallie, Eddie Tallie and Henderson Tallie; and sisters, Clara Bell Randle, Martha Strong, Gracie Lou Brown and Minnie Mae Hylton. 

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Tallie and Derrick Tallie, both of West Point; daughter, Sharon Tallie of West Point; brother, Willie James Tallie of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Leolia Nole of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
