COLUMBUS — Estelle B. Rushing, 90, died June 4, 2026, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at Lowndes Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Rushing was born August 7, 1935, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Riley Brazil and Daisy Sprinkle Brazil. She was formally employed as a floor supervisor at Sanderson Plumbing. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, M.L. Howard and David Rushing; children, Cynthia Pickens and Ted Allen Howard; siblings, J.D. Brazil, Nannie B. Dozier, Joyce Ferguson, Maxine Barton and Loutine Thomas; and one grandchild. 

She is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Howard; brother, Ted Brazil; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
