COLUMBUS — Erma “Jean McShan” Moore, 90, died Dec. 7, 2025, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Shiloh Full Gospel M.B. Church, with Al Lathan officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Moore was born Nov. 26, 1935, to the late Sesser McShan and Ruby C. Moore. She was formerly employed at Mississippi University for Women, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Dotson Hospital and as a front desk clerk for the Lowndes County Department of Human Services. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vera Jones, Johnnie Cunningham, Tommy Moore and Larry Bonner. 

She is survived by her children, Linda Lang, Tylana McShan, Sammy McShan, Vickey Williams, Denise Glenn, all of Columbus, Eddie D. Moore of Racine, Wisconsin, Sandra McShan Mitchell of Dallas, Georgia, Maurice Johnson of Starkville and Phebie Moore of Madison; siblings, Janice Nelson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Geraldine Anderson of Flint, Michigan, and Sammy Moore of Racine; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 9 nine great-great-grandchildren.
