COLUMBUS — Eric L. Pruitt, 50, died April 20, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Ethelsville, Alabama, with the Rev. Richard McKay officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pruitt was born Jan. 16, 1976, in Columbus, to the late George and Wilderdean Pruitt. He was a 1994 graduate of Lee High School and was formerly employed as an apprentice, senior floor installer and crew leader with Gerald Houser Flooring and Carpet Installers and as a contractor with SDI. He was also self-employed as a barber, handyman and landscaper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Pietra Pruitt, Stanley Pruitt and George Pruitt III.

He is survived by his fiancée, Nakita Franks; children, Jalon Franks, Eriyania, Disney and Zohie Franks; and siblings, Edwin Summerville, Marlon Pruitt, Jarvis Pruitt, Tiffany Pruitt and Chanta Pruitt.

Pallbearers are Roderick Sunivelle, Carlos Mullins, Kelly Wells, Leonard Wells, Anthony Wells, Chris Trimuel  and Jessie Gavin.
