FAYETTE. Ala. — Emily Faye Thomas, 72, died March 23, 2014, at the Hospice of West Alabama. Services are today 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon, Ala., with Sonny McLellan and Travis Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Miracle of Faith Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Ms. Thomas was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late George and Vaudellar Thomas. She was formerly employed as a waitress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Thomas; and one grandson. Survivors include her daughter, Vickery Diane Sansing of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; son, Preston Adams of Chicago; brothers Larry Brooks Thomas and Billy Ray Thomas, both of Vernon and Roy Thomas of Sulligent, Ala.; sisters, Dorothy Many of Cabot, Ark., and Kathy Ann Sullivan of Fayette; and two granddaughters.
