CLEWISTON, Fla. — Elijah Smith, 82, died Dec. 22, 2025, in Clewiston, Florida.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, at St. John M.B. Church in Columbus, with John Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. No visitation will be held. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born June 1, 1943, in Columbus, to the late Leb Smith and Callie Gordon. He was a graduate of Tyler Barber College and was formerly employed with the United States Sugar International Corporation and as a licensed master barber. He attended Greater Friendship Church in Harlem.
