VERNON, Ala. — Edward Glen Newell, 66, died April 7, 2026, at Fayette Medical Center-DCH.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Christopher McKee and Nathan McKee officiating.

Mr. Newell was born Feb. 25, 1960, in Augsburg, Germany, to the late James Charles and Edna Wynell McCool Newell. He was formerly employed as an auto mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Newell; and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Newell; children, Mindi Newell, Tanya Hensley and Glenn Newell Jr.; siblings, Denise Newell and Chuck Newell; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Conner Peoples, Haigen McSpadden, Charles Newell, Riley Newell, Christopher McKee and Nathan McKee.
