Edward “Eddie” Estalote, Jr.

Edward A. “Eddie” Estalote, Jr. went home peacefully to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the age of 86.
Eddie was born in New Orleans and graduated from De La Salle High School. He held degrees
in mathematics and science and ultimately earned a PhD in Physics. Eddie enjoyed a long
and distinguished career with the Office of Naval Research. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Columbus, Mississippi, where he was an instructor at several universities and colleges. He was known for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor. He found great joy in simple things, especially reading his Bible, being with friends and family, playing his guitar, sailing, and riding his motorcycle and his tractor.
Eddie loved God and loved his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Lynda “Lynn” Estalote and four children: Eddie Estalote, III and his wife Kim in St. Rose, Louisiana; Anne Kulakowski and her husband John in Gretna, Louisiana; Raymond Estalote and his wife Mary in Covington, Louisiana; and David Estalote and his wife Hannah in New York City. He also loved his grandchildren: John Michael Estalote and his wife Ashley, Rachel Kulakowski, Emily Kulakowski, and several step-grandchildren.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward (Sr.) and Elizabeth Estalote.
Funeral service is under the direction of L. A. Muhleisen funeral home in Kenner, LA. Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Rose Community Church, 627 St. Rose Avenue, St. Rose, LA. Visitation starts at 10 am and the memorial service will begin at 11 am. A graveside committal service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery in St. Rose, LA.
