AKRON, Ohio — Eddie Skippier Jr., 80, died Feb. 17, 2026. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Springfield M.B. Church, with the Rev. Sammie Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Skipper was born June 25, 1945, in Columbus, to the late Clara and Eddie Lee Skipper Sr. He was formerly employed as a concrete finisher and construction worker. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mattie Brown, Lucy Smith, Ernest Skipper and Charlie Skipper. 

He is survived by his siblings, William Skipper, Gracy Skipper-Givens, Alvin Skipper, all of Columbus and Annie Skipper-Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama. 

Pallbearers will be Robert Howard, Jimmy Thompson, Early Thompson and Jack Whitfield.
