COLUMBUS — Eddie Lee “Spook” Porter Sr., 77, died April 10, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Providence M.B. Church, with Timothy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Stallion Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Porter was born Dec. 11, 1948, in Columbus, to the late Charlie Lee Porter Sr. and Elsie Moody Porter. He was formerly employed as a mechanic with APAC and a member of Providence M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Porter; daughter, Dorothy Henry; siblings, Gloria Mae Evans, Lillie Evan, Juliet Porter, Charlie Porter Jr.; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Marie Overstreet, Eddie L. Porter Jr., Charlie David Porter, Vickie Harris, Sonia Ellis, Brodreick Porter and Yolanda Windham, all of Columbus; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
