CRAWFORD — Early “Pig” James Halbert, 55, died Nov. 17, 2025, in Crawford.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. West Memorial Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his children, James Halbert of Macon, Dominique Burkhalter, Latedra Burkhalter and Latrecia Halbert, all of Starkville; siblings, Lula Hodges of Columbus, Quantina Halbert-Robinson, Robert Halbert, Demetric Halbert, Elvis Wayne Sykes and Tony Sykes, all of Crawford, Stephanie Halbert of Starkville, Steven Sykes of Michael, Stephanie Ross of Douglasville, Georgia, Hansel Moore of Memphis, Tennessee, Lonzel Brooks and Mary Baptist, both of Kankakee, Illinois, Arthur Bibbs of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Telesha Sherman of Dallas, Texas, and Sharita Sykes of Mableton; and 16 grandchildren.
