COLUMBUS – Earl Griffin Sr., 93, died March 20, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.  

Funeral services will be at 11 2 p.m. Saturday, at Carter’s Funeral Services, with Elder Robert Wilson officiating. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Griffin was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Greenville, to the late Wade Griffin Sr. and Hannah Griffin. He was formerly employed at Brislin. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Earl Griffin Jr.; and siblings, Louise Crowder, Mack Griffin, Wade Griffin Jr. and Lemon Griffin. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty Griffin; children, Norma Jones, Madzimoyo Owusu, both of Columbus, Ivy Carter of Vicksburg, Earlene Russell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Jonathan Griffin of Peoria, Illinois, and Wade Corey Griffin of Marksville, Louisiana; 32 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
