COLUMBUS — Dwight Stephenson, 55, died May 2, 2026.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at New Hope C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. J.W. Leech officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope/Armstrong Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stephenson was born March 16, 1971, to Robert Stephenson and the late Fannie Ferguson Stephenson. He was a 1989 graduate of New Hope Hill School and attended Mississippi State University. He was formerly employed as an independent construction subcontractor and a member of New Hope C.M.E. Church.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ramon Lavelle and James Calvin Stephenson.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Zaine Raashon Craig; and siblings, Bernice Stephenson Lewis of Caledonia, Willie Earl Stephenson and Obbie Stephenson Tate, both of Ethelsville, Alabama, Barbara Stephenson Reives of Collierville, Tennessee, Hilda Stephenson Eddins, Bobby Stephenson and Gwen Stephenson, all of Columbus, Calandra Stephenson-Lake of Cypress, Texas, and Marlon Stephenson of San Antonio.
Pallbearers are VerShun Eddins, Anthony Ellis, Joe Ferguson Jr., Maurice Jackson, Nicholas Lake, Johnny Stephenson, Tony Stephenson and Courtland Taylor.
