MACON — Dot Smith Phillips, 83, died Sept. 22, 2025, at Noxubee General Hospital. 

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Oddfellows Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Phillips was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Noxubee County, to the late Wade Hampton and Winnie Bell (nee Stiles) Smith. She was a graduate of Macon High School and East Mississippi Junior College. She was formerly employed as an administrative assistant and at Mississippi State University. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Simmons. 

She is survived by her son, Mark Phillips of Starkville; four grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren.
