VERNON, Ala. — Dorthy Lee Taylor Bowen, 80, died June 22, 2025. 

Funeral services will be at noon Friday, at Chandler Funeral Home, with Pete Bowen and Tim Gentle officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Bowen was born Nov. 24, 1944, in Isola, to the late Nollie Lee Taylor Sr. and Hazel Dean Taylor. She was formerly employed at Bowen Backhoe Service and was a member of Steens Church of Christ. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Titus Bowen. 

She is survived by her sons, Quint Bowen, Brent Bowen and Wesley Bowen, all of Steens; daughters, Angela Holzman of West Point and Katrina Snapp of Steens; brother, Nollie Taylor Jr.; sisters, Maggie Hickman, Barbara Bryant, Angie Holley and Patsy Sprayberry; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Titus Bowen, Joe Bowen, Wesley Bowen, Matthew Holzman, Brandon Coleman and Phil Sprayberry.
