COLUMBUS — Doris Gray Merrell, 94, died March 28, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Stephen Chapel M.B. Church, with the Rev. James Samuel officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Merrell was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Crawford. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Merrell; and sister, Corinne Sliwinski. 

She is survived by her sons, William Terry Gray and Kenneth Haiston; sisters, Sallie Gray and Mattie Brown; brother, Monroe Gray Jr.; four grandchildren; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
