COLUMBUS — Dora Young Taifer, 73, died Nov. 19, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, at Springhill Primitive Baptist Church in Macon, with Walter Lowery Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Brewer Young Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Taifer was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Macon, to the late Richard Young and Lucy Brewer Young. She was formerly employed in direct patient care with Letchworth Village and was a member of Springhill Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Easter Darling, Rosie Wells, Ether Stewart, Sadie Young, George Sherman Young, Enora Young, Richard Young, Cornelius Cash and Louis Young Sr.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Young of Columbus, Carlos Herring of New York, and Natacha Taifer; siblings, Lizzie Young of Columbus and Sammie Young of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Terron Wells, Edward Sherron, Vance Phillips, Dantavias Brewer, Entonio Hines and Eddrick McCloud.
