SULLIGENT, Ala. — Donald Ray Edwards, 76, died Dec. 14, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Private family graveside services and burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Edwards was born May 13, 1949, in Sulligent, to the late Arnold Halbert Edwards and Ola Mae Kelly Edwards. He was a 1967 graduate of Sulligent High School and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in San Diego, California and Corpus Christi, Texas. He was formerly employed in deploying communications, as a tour leader in Yosemite Park and South Lake Tahoe, and as owner and operator of Lamar Storage facility. He was a member of Sulligent Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Nell Edwards.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Wesley Edwards of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Anthony Bryan Edwards of Sulligent; stepdaughter, Cindy Horton Waldrop of Michie, Tennessee; sister, Syble DiGirolamo of Parrish, Florida; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Edwards, Anthony Edwards, Danny DIllard, Dustin Sandlin, Casey Waldrop and Coley Waldrop.
