CARROLLTON, Ala. — Deshawn “D.J.” Jones Jr., 6, died July 16, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Bigbee Valley C.M.E. Church in Brooksville, with Allan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Thursday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Deshawn was born Jan. 16, 2019, in Noxubee County, to Deshawn Jones Sr. and Martisha Hood.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Quentin Collin Jr. of Carrollton, Genesis Stinson of Aliceville, De’Avah Jones and De’Nyla Jones, both of Utah.
