COLUMBUS — Deborah Ellis Bishop, 51, died April 10, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Truevine M.B. Church in Artesia, with Joseph Long officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bishop was born July 11, 1974, in Columbus, to Geneva Richardson Ellis and the late Elbert Ellis Sr. She was a 1994 graduate of West Lowndes High School and a graduate of Mississippi University for Women. She was a member of Vibrant Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jeanette Clayborn, Bernice Ellis, Barbara Ellis, Ellen Ellis and Elbert Ellis Jr.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Andrew Bishop Sr. of Columbus; children, Tiffany Sturdivant, Andrew Bishop Jr. and Andrea Bishop; and siblings, Sally Watt, Pricilla Hodges, Francy Thomas, Juanita Ellis, Lisa Baker, Tammy Samuel, Henry Ellis and Isiah Ellis.
