VERNON, Ala. — David Lynn Perkins, 69, died June 29, 2026, at Fayette Medical Center-DCH. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, at Chandler Funeral Home, with Brian Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Free Will Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Perkins was born June 24, 1957, in Vernon, to Lois Guyton Perkins and the late Willie Gene Perkins. He was formally employed as a lathe machine operator at Hyster. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Taylor Perkins. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Davey Perkins, Chrissy Welch, Dawn Guyton, Jessie Stockman, Dustin Taylor and Janna Goforth; 15 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Luke Guyton, Dillon Guyton, James Perkins, Caleb Gann, Tyler Daw and Zack Weathers.
