David Searcy Baucom, Sr., age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 13, 2025, in Columbus, MS. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Murrahs Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Donald Taggart officiating and Ashley Parsons assisting. The interment will be at Murrahs Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Murrahs Chapel Baptist Church.  Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Baucom was born November 23, 1944, in Caledonia, MS, to the late Kermit and Myrtle Walden Baucom. He attended Caledonia School and worked for 18 years at Waters Truck & Tractor as a front end and frame specialist and also worked for Miller’s OK Tire Store for a number of years. Mr. Baucom was a member of Murrahs Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Wanda Andrews, Catherine Phillips, Martha Cole, Ellis Baucom, Pete Baucom, and Paul Michael Baucom.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Baucom of Columbus, MS; son, David Searcy Baucom, Jr. and his wife, Ashley, of Columbus, MS; daughters, Lisa Killpack and her husband, Russell, of Millport, AL, Angela Boyd and her husband, Dane, of Columbus, MS, and Janet Anderson and her husband, Chuck, of Columbus, MS; brothers, Tony Baucom and his wife, Patricia, of Columbus, MS, Kermit Baucom, Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Columbus, MS, Leslie Baucom and his wife, Margaret, of Steens, MS, and Mike Baucom and his wife, Shirley, of Gordo, AL; grandchildren, James, Hannah, Kasey, Ashley, Christopher, Gracie, Emily Beth, Haley, Matthew, Myron, and Jace; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Russell Killpack, James Killpack, Dane Boyd, Patrick Homan, Thomas Parsons, Chuck Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Matthew Baucom, and Myron Greene.
