WEST POINT – Daryl Y. Thomas, 53, died March 20, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. 

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, at Northside Christian Church, with Orlando R. Richmond Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Friday, at the church. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Thomas was born June 19, 1972, in West Point, to Joe Holland Jr. and the late Lee A. Thomas. He was formerly employed as Clay County Supervisor and the City of West Point electrical superintendent. 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Holland. 

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Kahla Thomas; sons, Daryl Thomas Jr. and Dason Thomas; daughter, Jamesha Tolliver; brothers, Derek Holland, Shindel Holland, Brandon Hill and Mario Price; sisters, Monica Holland, Bashyra Holland, Brigzette Holland and Yolanda McCauley; and six grandchildren.
