MACON — Daniel Lawrence “Danny” Swanson, 68, died July 29, 2025, at Brookwood Medical Center in Homewood, Alabama.

Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, at Cornerstone Community Church, with Ruskin Clay officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Visitation was two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swanson was born Oct. 12, 1956, in Attica, Indiana, to Charles Franklin Swanson and the late Patricia Ann Bannon Swanson. He attended Seeger High School in West Lebanon and was a 1975 graduate of Central Academy. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was formerly employed as a farmer, an equipment operator at Outdoor Technologies and Buchanan Lumber, an emergency medical technician in Winston County, and with Tem’s Grocery.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Wright of Memphis, Tennessee; and siblings, Sally Robbins of Macon, Bruce Swanson of Kennedy, and Steve Swanson of Cochrane.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Susanne Swanson.
