GARY, Ind. — Collis Wayne Robertson, 63, died, July 4, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Indiana.

Funeral services were at noon Saturday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Angela Metcalfe officiating. Burial followed at the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery. Visitation was one  hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robertson was born July 2, 1962, in Vernon, to the late Sonny Hackman and Elsie Robertson. He was a graduate of Sulligent High School and was formerly employed as a bus attendant. He was a member of Chapel C.M.E. Church in Sulligent and Progressive Community Church in Gary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Coy Robertson and Barry Robertson.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Robertson of Gary; children, Fabian Shelly, Bryan Shelly, Veronica Shelly and Kanika Turner, all of Vernon, Collis Robertson and Carlton Robertson, both of Gary; siblings, Kenneth Smith of Tuscaloosa, Elaine Pierre, Sandra Robertson and Joy Beth Hackman, all of Sulligent, Zenobia Allen of Columbus, Elisha Conner of Northport, Marilyn Hackman of Guin, and Angela Hackman of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wayne Hollis, Joey Hackman, Steve Hackman, Bobby Metcalfe, Randolph Hackman, Gregory Johnson and Randy Guyton.
