COLUMBUS — Clarence “C.J.” Tate Jr., 24, died Feb. 17, 2026, in Brooksville.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Kingdom Vision Church, with Jarmarcus Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tate was born June 7, 2001, in Columbus, to Clarence Tate Sr. and Geneva Tate. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Kingdom Vision Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Hailey Tate of Columbus, Judias Neal Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina, Catrice McCoy of Macon, and Ashley Stepp of Aliceville, Alabama.

Pallbearers are Darius Farmer, Marcus Farmer, Deshaun Neal, Gabriel Blair, Antonio Brownlee and Maurice Montgomery.
