CRAWFORD — Charlie “Hot Dog” Williams, 70, died Oct. 3, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at Oakland M.B. Church, with Sammy White officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams was born March 9, 1955, in Crawford, to the late Jimmy Williams and Lola Hubbard Williams. He was formerly employed as a welder with Babcock and Wilcox, Mitchell Engineering, Ellis Steel and Bell Awnings. He was a member of Oakland M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, Willie Turner; and siblings, Jimmy Williams, Archie Williams, Henry L. Williams, Lizzie Clemons, Willie M. Williams, Lola Williams and Bernice Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Lesa Williams; children, Deareake Gray and Norlisha Williams, both of Columbus; stepchildren, Samuel McCarter and Edward Henley, both of Crawford, and Carlesa Johnson of Slidell, Louisiana; siblings, Mary Smith of Mathiston, Tommy Williams of Artesia, and Phillip Williams of Columbus; stepsisters, Willie Dean Parson, Lucy Henley and Mary Alice Farmer, all of Crawford, and Mariea Dora of Columbus; and 13 grandchildren.
