STARKVILLE — Charlie Frank Powers, 93, died April 11, 2026, at Starkville Manor.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes Chapel, with Joseph Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Peiler M.B. Church Cemetery No. 2. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes of Starkville are in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Powers was born Jan. 25, 1993, in Starkville, to the late Dudley Powers and Charlie Ann Seals. He attended Oktibbeha County schools and was formerly employed as a farmer and as a custodian with Starkville Manor Nursing Home and Oktibbeha County Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Collier-Powers; son, Wesley Powers; and sister, Margaret Fox.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Kay Ivy Powers; daughters, Darlene Powers of Starkville, Leslie P. Shaw, Vanessa Ivy Page and Courtney Lashay Ivy, all of Saltillo; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are Demond Blanchard, Louis V. Conley, Esq., Jamal Ivy, Kevin Miller, Jonathan Shaw and Shedrick Shaw.
