COLUMBUS — Charlie Fenster Jr., 61, died June 28, 2026.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at Carter’s Funeral Services, with the Rev. Jimmy Cockrell officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fenster was born August 29, 1964, to the late Charlie Fenster Sr. and Martha Ann Fenster. He was a 1982 graduate of Stephen D. Lee High School and he attended Jackson State University, Mary Holmes Community College, East Mississippi Community College and graduated from Mississippi University for Women. He was formally employed as an assembly line supervisor at Baldor Electric Company, assistant manager at Stovall’s Restaurant, auditor and manager at Hampton Inn, photojournalist and advertising representative at The Commercial Dispatch, machine operator at Universal Industries Corporation, commission sales associate at Sears Roebuck & Company, resident life counselor at Mississippi Governor’s School and as a licensed electrician at Cache Valley Electric.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Cockrell.
He is survived by his children, Charlie T. Fenster III of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Amie S. Fenster and Miles Fenster, both of Summerville, South Carolina; sisters, Diana Fenster and Lillie Fenster of Columbus; and brother, Isaac Fenster of Columbus.
