HAMILTON — Charles L. Smith, 82, died June 23, 2017, at his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fig Hill Church of God with Rickey Kendrick and Tony Rocks officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Lamar. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith was born in Lowndes County, to the late Audie and Nettie Smith. He was retired after 25 years from Vista Chemical in Aberdeen and formerly worked for Evans Plumbing and AC. He was a member of the Independent Fig Hill Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Glasgow and Eva Mae Cooper; and one brother, Robert Earl Smith. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Seely Smith; two sons, Charles Lee Smith and Mark Smith, both of Hamilton; one daughter, Pam Smith of Hamilton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Stacy Guined, J. C. Evans, Johnny Glasgow, Landon Whitaker, Bradley Burroughs and Cade Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or Smith Cemetery, 40017 Chaffin Road, Hamilton, MS 39746.
