MILLPORT, Ala. — Charles Christopher “Punkin” Mordecai, 52, died Jan. 3, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mordecai was born Dec. 30, 1973, in Vernon, to Charles Edward Mordecai and Rose Marie Mordecai. He was a 1992 graduate of South Lamar High School and was a member of Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Kristy Sudduth.

Pallbearers are Kevin Funderburk, Craig Funderburk, Brad Williams, Marc Smith, James Compton, Danny Holmes, Josh Kelley and Robert House.
