CRAWFORD — Catina Denise Rice, 53, died March 2, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Oakland M.B. Church, with Sammy White officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rice was born Jan. 17, 1973, in Macon, to West Malone Jr. and Linda Malone. She was a 1991 graduate of West Lowndes High School and was formerly employed as an assistant teacher and bus monitor with Coleman Headstart and ICS Headstart. She was a member of Oakland M.B. Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her fiancé, John A. Short III of Crawford; son, Kovi Rice Sr. of Acworth, Georgia; siblings, Frederick Rice of Baltimore, Marland, Shondra Peoples, Latonya Malone and Kesha Malone, all of Crawford, Antonio Malone of Columbus, and Bradwick Malone of Lithia Springs; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Marvin Monroe, Rashad Brown, Radreacus Rogers, Demetrius Harrell, Ladrecus Robinson, Tyquan Lucious, Derrick McCarter and Anthony Frieson
