VERNON, Ala. — Carol Duncan Stephens, 92, died May 5, 2026, in Vernon. 

Funeral services were 5 p.m. Friday, at Mt Nebo Church, with Terry McAdams and Danny Standord officiating. Burial followed at Furnace Hill Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Stephens was born April 20, 1934, in Caledonia to the late Bradey and Leslie Honnell Duncan. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thurman Stephens; and her son, Terry Stephens. 

She is survived by her daughter, Cherry Christian; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers are Eddie Woods, Furman Bozeman, Mark Robertson, Kenny Hollis, Chris Baines and David Pitts.
