COLUMBUS — Carl Nicholson Sr., 81, died July 5, 2026, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services with Michael Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Nicholson was born May 7, 1945, in Macon, to the late Henry Nicholson and Mattie Nicholson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Skinner Nicholson; and siblings, Lorraine Binion, Leonard Nicholson, Curtis Nicholson, Charles Nicholson, Oscar Nicholson, John Nicholson, Edward Nicholson, Robert Nicholson, Clarence Nicholson and Julis Nicholson.

He is survived by his children, Kelvin Nicholson, Carl Nicholson Jr. and Cynthia Young, all of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
