COLUMBUS — Carl L. McClain, 80, died Sept. 10, 2019, at Vineyard Court Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Water Valley, with the Rev. Milford McClain officiating. Burial will follow at oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to services at the church. Mr. McClain was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Opelika, Alabama, to the late Colonel and Annie “Kinny” McClain. He served as Pastor of First Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dewey McClain, J. Nolen McClain, Paul McClain, Eugene Hall, Curtis Hall, Willard McClain, Marvin McClain, Tracy McClain, David McClain and Roy McClain; and sisters, Sinie Smith, Mertle Tittle and Ophelia Reed. He is survived by his wife, Rosie McClain; son, Carl McClain Jr. of Water Valley; daughters, Bonnie Waller of Columbus and Rhonda Ellington of Vaiden; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Evan McClain, Zach McClain, Brian Ellington, Bobby Sayre, Alex Bartley and Richard Murphy.
