Columbus –Funeral services for Sgt. Carl Allen Fox, 54, of Columbus, MS and formerly of Leland, will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Old White Stone M. B. Church, Helm. He died March 12, 2017 at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Bush Funeral Services, Leland. Sgt. Fox was born September 12, 1962, and was the seventh child of the late Jimmie Fox, Sr. and Viola Fox. He joined Pleasant Valley Church in Dunleith, MS at an early age. He is a graduate of Leland High School, and upon graduating, joined the United States Air Force, where he completed training in Administration and Law Enforcement. After honorably serving his country and retiring as a 100% disabled veteran, Sgt. Fox continued to serve his community as a bailiff, constable and deputy sheriff. His enthusiasm for Law Enforcement remained until he passed away while visiting at Keesler Air Force Base. Sgt. Fox married Deloris Parker Fox, his devoted wife of 29 years. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Senior Airman Andrea Brittany Fox. Sgt. Fox also leaves behind cherished memories and a loving family. In addition to his wife and daughter, he leaves: four sisters, Hertestine Walker of Los Angeles, CA, Josephine Fox (Retired, United States Army) and Earnestine Fox (retired paramedic and nurse) both of Leland, and 1st Lieutenant Irma Fox (Retired, United States Army, Civil Service and author) of Braxton, MS; two brothers, Jimmie (Ann Doolan) Fox, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO and Patrick (Teresa) Ervin of Greenville; his nephews, Kevin Fox of Robinsonville, Clint Malik of Washington, DC and Ryan Fox of Colorado Springs; his niece, Venus Cleopatra Long of Fort Washington, MD; great-nieces, Jazlyn Fox of Robinsonville and Noelle Malik of Washington, DC; and a host of cousins and friends. He is sorely missed, with assurance. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-5 at the funeral home. There will be no viewing at the church on Friday. Rev. William Powell will officiate.
