VERNON, Ala. — Burma Jordan, 91, died June 30, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, at Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, with Gary Seay and John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Chandler Funeral Home. Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Jordan was born March 18, 1935, in Monroe County, to the late Authur Lee and Susan Armiza Heard. She was formally employed as a bookkeeper at WEJ Trucking. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Paul Jordan; daughter, Sheri Jordan Roberson; brother, JB Heard; and sister, Myrle Northington. 

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Suzette Jordan of Greenville, South Carolina; sister, Ruby Easter of Gattman; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
