Brown Jones

Brown Key Blair Jones, 103, a longtime resident of Columbus, Mississippi, and most recently of West Point, Mississippi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 14, 2026.
Brown was born on April 25, 1922, in Vernon, Alabama, to the late Dr. John H. And Mary Frances Key. She grew up in Caledonia, Mississippi.
Brown was a loving mother, a friend to all, and a devoted servant of Christ. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. She loved working in her yard, serving faithfully in her church, and cooking for those she loved. Over her 103 years, Brown lived a long life marked by faith, kindness, and devotion to her family and her Lord.
She is survived by her son, William K. Blair and his wife, Patricia; her grandchildren, William K. Blair, Jr. (Sandi), Carroll Blair Stockett (Rob), Perrin Jones Kibler (Bryan), Bethea Jones Smith (Ken), Emily “Mimi” Gholson, William Webster Gholson (Melissa); and her great-grandchildren, Erika Blair Davis, Bentley Blair, Emerson Blair, Blair Stockett, Carter Stockett, Will Kibler, John Kibler, Kirby Smith Elmy, Carter Smith, Hunter Thomas, Mat Bailey, Lucas Bailey, Andrew Gholson, Will Gholson
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Frances and Dr. John Key; her sister, Virginia Finn; her brother, John Key, Jr.; and her husbands, Ira B. Blair and William L. Jones.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at First Methodist Church in Columbus, Mississippi. A private family graveside service will follow.
The family extends special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Annie Smith, Gladys “Net” Posley, Martha “Boo” Brownlee, and Vesta “Shortie” Lee, for their loving care the past few years.
Brown’s life was a testimony of faith and love, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the many lives she touched. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
