VERNON, Ala. — Brenda Godsey Thomas, 60, died May 3, 2026, at her residence.

A private family graveside service will be held. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Thomas was born January 5, 1966, in Vernon to the late Elbert and Virginia Lou Godsey. She attended Lamar Country High School and was formally employed as a dental assistant at the Vernon Dental Clinic. She attended Celebration Worship Center. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Bobby Godsey and Barabra Griffith. 

She is survived by her husband, Mike Thomas; children Micheal Thomas, Justin Thomas and Meagan Whisenant; her siblings James Godsey, Lynn Godsey, Brian Godsey, Liz Guyton and Altie Hollis; and seven grandchildren.
