VINEMONT, Ala. — Bobby Earl Turner, 85, died July 8, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, at First Free Will Baptist Church of Vernon, with Joe Beckon officiating. Burial followed at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation was two hours prior to services at the church. Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Turner was born Sept. 13, 1939, in Vernon, to the late Berry Edgar and Lula Gann Turner. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was formerly employed as a machine operator. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Vernon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Sanders and Barbara Hollenbeck; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Michelle Moore of Vernon and Rita Vanessa Dean of Vinemont; stepson, Joe Wilson; sister, Kaye Payne; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Dean, Keaton Dean, Easton Dean, Zadus Turner Jr., William Turner, Demus Shelnut, David Shelnut and Michael Merchant.
