COLUMBUS — Billy Ray Billups, 37, died Sept. 8, 2025, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Carter’s Funeral Services, with Joe Eggleston officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Billups was born Dec. 9, 1987, in Columbus, to Billy Ray Butler and Brenda L. Billups. He was a graduate of Columbus High School. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Cassandra Mosby; children, B.J. Jones and Ariel Jones, both of Columbus; siblings, Javario Hackman, Javonta Hackman, Joshua Hackman, Jamekia Hackman, all of Caledonia; Jessica Brooks of San Antonia; Jelisha Hackman of Horn Lake and Jatavious Butler of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
